Side step into Pho, not exactly a hidden gem but if you've walked around Spitalfields but given in to the more flashy joints that lead up to #7 Spitalfields, you'd probably never of tried Pho, and for shame!
Alright who put bees nest in here? Guys?... |
The dishes arrive within good time since our last few visits and gotta say, it's the sheer size of the meal that brings me back.... well I'll let you see for yourself.
The soup broth here is full of flavour yet balanced, I didn't even bother ordering a drink after my first visit as I found myself gulping down the soup instead.
Should you go spicy you'll find yourself heating up soon enough, maybe a little too hot if you ask me (Ok, I was foolish enough to dunk the supplied chilli oil in also ><") and be it the steak, brisket, beef, chicken or prawns they are all well done and so far never been like chewing bubblegum or looking lacklustre.
The price tag for this ranges from £8 to £12... yes it's quite steep for lunch and yet you should do it!
You don't even need to order a drink since you'll be gulping down the soup and if you do try the teas, the money king tea is good palette cleanser and it sounds funny too ;J
I'll give it a Reel Hungry rating of:
TASTE: 4/5
PORTION: 5/5
PRICE: 2/5
SERVICE: 3/5
ENVIRONMENT: 3/5
Total: 68%
Verdict, for a lunch it's nice as a fortnightly treat but damaging to both your money and waistline if you do this everyday fatty, zee portions are big! As an after work meal though it'll leave you nicely tucked in ;J
- - - UPDATE - - -
I took a snap of the takeaway menu, roughly £6.25 to £7 for noodle soup that isn't filled with veg (darn you healthy Itsu) isn't too bad and the Bun ranges from £5.25 to £6 ;J
