Oh boy are we in for a treat! Neill Blomkamp's Elysium looks set to give us another mind blowing piece of science fiction cinema once again. While the film looks hyper futuristic it still has subtle elements of grounded reality like the highly modded AK-47 which looks very sci fi but feels very real and plausible to image coming into fruition in the distant future. The same goes for the cities, robots and Matt Damon's crazy exo-skeleton, it all screams this could be our future. Alright enough of me nerding out about the look and feel of this trailer lets get to the real meat of this trailer. From what we know the extremely rich live in this immaculate super-advance space station where its inhabitants aren't affected by disease, crime or hunger and the rest live on Earth which looks like constant struggle for survival. Max Coburn (Matt Damon) looks to change this social order and plans on bringing balance to both worlds. Neill Blomkamp deserved high praise for making District 9 look like a $100M budget film with less than third of that and with Elysium's $120M budget its looks like it was made with a $200M budget. Mr. Blomkamp is truly a master of getting the most of his films and this looks set to be another mega hit at the box office.
